Make your computer ask for a password

At the start of the computer, BIOS , the first program that runs. One can tell BIOS to demand a password when it begins, thus it restricts the access to one’s computer. If someone wants to get access to the BIOS setup program, sometimes termed CMOS setup one must switch on or reboot one’s computer.  The screen will show a series of diagnostics and a memory check. There will be a message like Hit the DEL key to make entry into the BIOS setup, program will be present. A message like "Hit the <DEL> key to enter the BIOS setup program" will appear.

When one will press DEL at the right time he will see a menu screen something like this. As one can watch there are two options that having reference to passwords, such as Supervisor Password and User Password.  These connect the controlling access to the BIOS Setup Program and the Machine Boot respectively. However it is also true each BIOS password is not loaded with the same features. One should make selection of the User password and one will be allowed to enter a password. One should now enter a password with eight characters (most BIOS's are limited to eight characters unfortunately). The BIOS will then give the signal to make the conformation of the password,  one should type the same thing again.

Now a person should set one’s system to ask for that password every time it boots.  So select the BIOS FEATURES SETUP option, now one should go back to the main menu and select SAVE AND EXIT SETUP. The machine will then start rebooting and one will be directed for the password. Each and every time one boots he will be asked for the password one has chosen. One thing should be kept in mind that this method of limiting access to one’s computer is not fully protected. However, it will at least delay the majority of casual attempts to get access.
